Discovering Spirituality

All my life I've been deeply connected to spirits and animals. I love being able to feel and understand emotions of everything around me.

Believe it or not, there are spirits in everything. My favorite example would be a book. Any ordinary book would have the same special qualities.
Books contain knowledge, my dad always called them "teachers" because they give us knowledge.

They also have spirits (like, really old ancient spirits) that inhabit within the book.

Spirits are all around us. They sit on our heads and show us the right path. People may use their gut-feeling, or intuition to guide them as well.

I'm currently learning a new technique      called Palmistry.

"Sometimes life is like this dark tunnel, you can’t always see the light at the end of the tunnel, but if you just keep moving, you will come to a better place."

-Uncle Iroh (TV Series: Avatar the Last Airbender)

One of my favorite shows is Avatar the Last Airbender from Nickelodeon. Although it is a children's show I'm very fond of it for not only the amazing graphics and bending, but for the life quotes it provides.

Uncle Iroh is a brother to fire lord Ozai (There are 4 nations, each containing their own form of government. The 4 nations represent each element :fire, water, earth and air.) And unlike his tyrannic brother, he prefers peace, tea, and enlightened conversations.

He is one of my role models, demonstrating discipline, compassion and understanding for your surroundings. He is open minded, creating space for those who are troubled and weak.

The sequel to Avatar the Last Airbender is the Legend of Korra.
Korra, our new avatar (the bridge between spirits and humans, creating peace in the world) and her mission is the same as every avatar's: to balance the world and its people. This is my second favorite show.

Co-creator Bryan Konietzko is a wonderful and inspirational person. One of my favorite doodles is of Commander Bumi and this bunny spirit, Boomju.

Evif

Don't let people get to you.
This was something I had learned ages ago.

Over the weekend I'd went to Boston for National Portfolio Day with my studio portfolio class.

It's a place where a bunch of art colleges and aspiring artists go and have their portfolio reviewed. Most people are pretty good while others need a bit more to work on.
This was a painting I worked on for a project. Inspired from baroque artists.

I went over to a bunch of different colleges and they all told me the same thing: "you should change your major to photography."

Obviously I wasn't going to change what made me happy, but I did take their advice. My photographs portrayed a documentary-type style. It had powerful images as well as emotion.

Upset, I walked out of the Hynes center into the mall with a group of friends and I drew Alyssa while we were in the Microsoft store

I felt content with everything and treated myself to a double cheeseburger.
