I just recently turned 18,
The first thing I did was get my 2nd hole pierced at my workplace, Claire's. After looking at the selection of a thousand earrings, one stood out the most to me.
Make a Wish foundation is a charity run to donate money to kids living with life threatening diseases, and it grants their last wish before they move on. Luckily for me, Claire's does offer the Make a Wish earrings, which I chose to buy.
Honestly in my opinion I feel like there's nothing better than that feeling of giving. Knowing that you've done a good deed to help others makes your feel good inside.-- You know, that warm tingly feeling when you've accomplished something. I feel like its better than eating icecream on pizza.

I think the earring you got is really cute, and it's awesome that you got it for a good cause! I got my second hole done when I was in eighth grade, and then I also have my cartilage pierced on my left ear. I wish I got my earrings though for Make a Wish, I don't know if they were doing that at the time I got my piercings but I think it's great to do something that helps someone else. It's cool that you did something for yourself while at the same time doing a kind thing for others!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea claire's offered earrings for make a wish! when i finally change my earring for my cartilage piercing i know for sure I'm getting my earrings at clarie's so I can also give back. I also agree with you that nothing feels better than giving back to someone, without expecting anything in return. I never knew how to explain the feeling of giving back feels like, but I think you did a pretty good job at explaining it!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading this post. Its always nice reading stories about people helping others. I thought it was really thoughtful of you to do something like that. Sort of like a win-win situation or killing two birds with one stone. You get a cute pair of earrings whilst donating to those in need.
ReplyDeleteJust like Chanel said, I too had no idea Claire's donated money to charity when you bought a certain pair of earrings. If I ever get my ears pierced for a second time you can sure bet I'll get the Make a Wish ones.
Don't you just love that feeling after making a good deed? It really does give you such a great feeling! I think it's awesome that something like this is offered, and it's such a great idea. I had no idea that Claire's even offered earrings of Make a Wish Foundation. Next time I take a visit, that is something that I will definately have to look into. Not to mention the earrings are adorable as well!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. Helping others does make me feel better. I really do like giving rather than receiving so i guess we're pretty similar in a way.
