People say to love what you do, and do what you love. For me, I enjoy making people's lives easier and brightening up their day.
Usually I work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays for the most part of each day. And I have to say, it does get tiring when people scream at you for trying to help them. The worst part is when they blame you for everything.
But even with all these negative thoughts, you still have to put on a smile for the whole day. It's kind of brainwashing, servicing people, giving them your full attention, and always putting a smile on your face even when they insult you.
Don't get me wrong I love my job, my coworkers, and the store. Sometimes I just wish some people left the bad attitude at home. There are times, I admit, where I would go to the back of the store and start tearing up, but then again you need thick skin to deal with ALLL sorts of people. My own skin had definately gotten stronger as time passes while working. Things are getting better.

You do seem to brighten my day. I don't know you give off that feeling. It is a good feeling and I like it. But don't let the people at work bring you down. You are just awesome person, don't forget that.
ReplyDeleteI agree. The only downside of working is the ignorance of others. They never consider anyone's feelings but their own. It does help people learn that the real world isn't nice but why cant it be? Why is society selfish. We are part of society.
ReplyDeleteI admire how strong you are. That's something hard to do this day and age.
Even though I do not work, I have witnesed so many people being mean to the workers. I always question why they took their bad attitude on the employers, even though all the employers are trying to do is help. But I commend you for how strong you are, and being able to deal with all sorts of people at your work.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean! I work at Wendy's and it's amazing how angry people can get and how much they'll argue about fast food. It's awful that some people take advantage of the people serving them by being rude or demanding, or whatever it may be. It's great that you keep composure and don't let it get to you :)
ReplyDeleteI used to work in an office, as a clerk. I was 15 at the time, so I really didn't have an important job. Still, people would yell at me when I couldn't give them an answer. I always felt so bad, because their attitude made me feel like it was my fault. But even so, you have to keep a smile on your face and move on with your day.
